In political text messaging, personalization is power, and we just gave you another way to wield it.
With Wonder Cave’s newest feature, you can now dynamically choose exactly which area codes your campaign messages are sent from. That means if you’re launching a campaign to voters in Charlotte, NC, your messages can come from a local 704 or 980 number, no random area code, no confusion, and no drop-off in trust.
Here’s how it works:
Set the Area Code, Stay on Message
When building a campaign on the Wonder Cave platform, you’ll now see the option to select the area code(s) you want messages to be sent from. If you choose 980, for example, only numbers in your account with that area code will be used.
It’s clean, intentional, and gives your message the local feel that earns opens and drives replies.
Why It Matters in Political Races
We’ve seen it again and again: People are far more likely to engage when they recognize a local area code. It feels familiar. Trusted. Real.
That could be the difference between a voter ignoring a text, or clicking through to your latest call to action.
This is especially important in battleground states and tight districts where every single interaction counts. When your message looks and sounds like it’s coming from just down the road, it hits differently.
Use Case Spotlight
Let’s say you’re running a GOTV push in North Carolina. You’ve got a healthy set of phone numbers with various area codes, but your target audience is concentrated in Charlotte. You set your campaign to only send 980 numbers.
Just like that, every text your voters receive comes from a number that looks familiar. That’s intentional messaging at its finest.
Built for Political and Advocacy Pros
This feature was built with political consultants and campaign teams in mind, because we know you’re managing a lot. Preferred area codes keeps things streamlined and precise, especially for organizations that interact with audiences in many different locales, so you can move fast without sacrificing strategy. Pairing this with a message containing a branded short link only increases the trust!
How to Start Using It
You’ll see the new setting inside campaign creation starting today. Just select the area code(s) you want, and we’ll handle the rest behind the scenes. If you’ve got numbers in that code, they’ll be used. If not, you’ll get a heads-up to either add more or adjust the setting.
Local Numbers. Bigger Impact.
Your message deserves to be heard, and seen, as local, relevant, and urgent. This new feature helps make that happen, right from the start.
Try it out today and give your next political text message campaign that local edge.
